Hello everyone, I have been looking around trying to find a little help here but I can't seem to get a clear answer about this router issue I'm having. I'm not a whiz at this stuff so I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone can give me some guidance.
Basically, I have a 100mbps plan through Mediacom here in Minnesota, they gave me a Hitron CGNM-2250 advanced wifi modem to use about 3 months ago. Everything worked fine and I was getting the speed I was promised until about a week ago.
We had a bad snowstorm and my internet connection went out for a day. I default reset my modem/router because it was being a little fishy (via the reset pin button) and re-configured all my settings. My wifi was up for about a day before it completely vanished. I have done every step I can think of but my wifi will only turn on for about 30 seconds before vanishing again. When this happens I have to default reset it again just to get it to show up for another 30 seconds.
My internet connection works just fine through an Ethernet, but the wifi is non-existent. Could this be a firmware issue or am I missing something here? I may just go buy a separate router and try that but I'd like to see if there is anything I can do before I spend the money.
