I set up my TP-LINK CR700 in bridge mode and then connect port 1 of the CR700 to my AD7200 input and get no internet at all. Is there anything else I need to do in the AD7200 for me to get internet? All the settings are default with the exception of the SSID and passwords. I currently have Time Warner/Spectrum as my provider. The CR700 has WiFi disabled as well. I am trying to get my plex server to be accessible to the outside world so that is why I am trying to configure the CR700 in bridge mode.

ZTE WF720 (AT&T Home Phone , Go Phone) broadband discovery!
I picked up a used AT&T Home Phone device and Paid 2 Dollars on EBay for the unlock key which worked great. I then upgraded the device to the latest ZTE firmware , leaving the drivers installed on my windows 7 system
Neither AT&T nor ZTE make any mention of using this device for broadband Internet.
I am NOT using an AT&T SIM rather a Telcel Mexico SIM.
As I do not normally use windows, I use linux I played around in both windows and linux and discovered the following with the USB A to A cable:
My ZTE WF720 WILL do mobile broadband. I only needed to configure it as a PPP connection in windows 7 . IN Linux I could not establish a connection using the default mobile broaband connection rather I had to use PPPd and the Gnome GUI for pppd.
I was unable to configure it with the default broadband conection under windows 7 or Linux. Only ppp connections seem to work.
I have the following questions however.
does using PPP hinder my broadband connection speed?
Also the ATI command in terminal gives me:
Manufacturer: ZTE Corporation
Model: 19
Revision: WF720 1.6.0
IMEI: 860815004XXXXXX
+GCAP: +CGSM,+DS,+ES
I assume that this last line +GCAP: +CGSM,+DS,+ES is supported modes??? WHat do these modes mean?
Thanks for any help

[ActionTec] Actiontec C1000A and loopback workaround
I've searched the internet looking for a way to configure my Actiontec C1000A loopback, but it appears this router doesn't support it.
So I've come up with a workaround using my hosts file located in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc.
I have a web server running in my home and port forwarding configured on the Actiontec router. It works and anyone on internet can see my web sites.
However, I can't see them within my own network because the router needs to loopback.
My web server hosts three web sites using vhost; all on one IP address 192.168.0.134 within my lan.
I've added these three lines to my hosts file:
192.168.0.134 serverA.com
192.168.0.134 serverB.com
192.168.0.134 serverC.com
I'm pleased to figure out this workaround. It does what I need it to do.
Now if I can just figure out how to edit the hosts files on my iPad, Nexus tablet, LG Phone, etc.

[Other] Avaya ERS4548GT - Switch out of memory
Hi everyone,
I have a Avaya ERS4548GT switch with 128MB internal Memory.
Since the last 2 weeks i have some issues that my internet connections become slow.
My ping reply on Wifi and Cable are at 3000ms which is not normal.
First i thought it could be my router or modem from my ISP but that was not the problem.
When i rebooted my switch the internet was normal for 2 days and then it became slow again.
I looked on the switch and could see that there was a warning on the memory. Only 20mb of the 128mb was available.
The config on this switch is rather easy, 3 Vlans, 8 devices are connected to the switch and i am using one MLT trunk witch 4 ports. Because i don't know what the problem is i did a reset on the switch to factory today but the error came back after the initial config and reboot.
Does anyone know how i can check what the ram is using or try to support? Could it be some old config files or firmware updates that were uploaded to it but didn't delete? I don't know what i can do to get more free space.
Switch diag file v.5.3.0.3 and software v.5.7.3.031

Ubiquiti EdgeRouter POE QOS Settings
I am using an EdgeRouter POE with my Comcast 150/10 Internet service The actual tested speeds are 180/12. Without QOS, my bufferbloat is "D" or "F" consistently.
Enabling the EdgeRouter QOS with settings at 180/12 results in "A" bufferbloat, but my download speed drops to 90 and upload to 6. I also tried setting QOS at 170/10 with similar results.
Can anyone recommend QOS settings for the EdgeRouter that will reduce bufferbloat without losing significant UL/DL speeds?
Thanks

SMC D3CM1604 TWC Modem & Port Forwarding
I hope I am posting in the right place...
I have a SMC D3CM1604 Modem I use with my TWC internet. I also just installed security cameras that require fort forwarding.. While I have been able to Port Forward through the Wireless router, I can't seem to get into the configs to port forward the SMC modem.
As you might imagine TWC wasn't any help. They were able to use the username: admin password:password but All I get is status and connections. I get no other menu items.
Because I purchased the modem vs.. renting the TWC I "SHOULD" have full access to the modem. 2 different TWC phone support guys said they don't do anything to change the default name a password on the modem.
Does anyone have any idea how I might be able to forward the ports through this modem to get the security cams to work?

Motorola/Zoom MB7420 - truncated Event Log
My new Motorola MB7420 (made by Zoom) has an interesting Event Log - each entry is truncated after about 50 characters, with no obvious way to view the entire message. Software Version is 7420-5.7.1.19.
So is this a bug or a feature? :) And if it is a bug, does anyone running with an updated firmware to correct this?

Draytek Router Question - Firewall Security
I've recently bought a Draytek 2925 ethernet router and have a question on firewall settings.
On all the routers I used in the past, there have been options to select security settings. For example: Low Security, Typical Security, High Security, Lockdown.
On this Draytek, I don't see anything like this. On the Firewall setup page of the router control panel, I see "Enable Strict Security Firewall", but there's very little info on what exactly this does.
Is this router basically going to let everything through inbound and outbound unless I set up a rule to stop it?

ZTE MF 271a/ca or at&t z700a
I am looking for information on
ZTE models
MF271A (US version?)
MF271CA (Canadian Version )
Z700a (AT&T US Version)
Of the ones I have seen (Rogers Canada I and AT&T US Versions) all apear to be the same units right down to the hardware code found . I have used these units successfully on 4G & 4G LTE networks in Mexico. I was hoping someone somewhere may have hacking or firmware other than the customized. I believe I have issues with differences in firmware.

[ActionTec] How to put DNSCrypt into Verizon Actiontec GT784WNV modem router ?
I'm on Verizon DSL and use Verizon's Actiontec GT784WNV modem router with Firmware Version GT784WN-VZ-1.1.22. Sorry, not Tomato or anything similar. In addition to connecting me to the internet (WAN?), this little box connects all the devices in my apartment to each other (LAN?), both wired and WiFi - our various computers, smartphones (when they receive WiFi), printer, iThings, etc. (For the WiFi, I have enabled both WPA2 encryption and MAC Address Filtering.)
In my router's "WAN IP Settings", I have (since years ago) set the DNS Type to Static DNS Addresses with OpenDNS's IP numbers Primary 208.67.222.222 and Secondary 208.67.220.220. Yes, I get the checkmark when I go to https://www.opendns.com/welcome/ .
Now, today, I just learned about DNSCrypt. Do I need to add it to my router? If yes, would I change one of the WAN IP numbers above to 127.0.0.1:40 or something else (does not seem right), or would I go to the different page "LAN IP and DHCP Settings" and change DNS from Dynamic (where it's always been) to Static and then makes DNS Server 1 point to 127.0.0.1:40 or something else?
(To repeat, in "WAN IP", I long ago selected Static and pointed to the OpenDNS IP numbers 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. However, in "LAN IP and DHCP Settings", DNS has always been set to Dynamic. To "get" DNSCrypt, must I change that to Static and insert 127.0.0.1:40 or something else as DNS Server 1 ?)
Since I'm probably not understanding how DNSCrypt is supposed to work in a router, please give me links to a slightly more basic discussion for the tourist that I am.
Finally, if it's impossible for me to do the right thing with my particular modem-router, let's talk about what I might do if I finally bite the bullet and get FIOS from Verizon, which I must do soon anyway. FIOS will also carry our phone lines - no longer POTS on copper as they are today - so whatever router I get (after the ONT) has to give me phone as well as internet.
Many thanks!!!

ZTE MF271a (AT&T Z700A) Antenna connections found inside??????
I have disassembled both ZTE MF271A and AT&T Version Z700A.
Counting those inside and those accessible from the bottom, I have now found a total 5 connectors for what appear to be antennas.
This unit is a 4G modem router with Wifi Integrated
I was wondering first if anyone can help to identify these connectors. All appear to be the same but not sure. At first I though they were like these in the picture here but there is no pin https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/179277/what-is-the-name-of-the-tiny-pcb-radio-connectors-e-g-apple-wifi-bluetooth-an
So maybe it is a CRC9 or a TS9? line those pictured here https://www.lelong.com.my/sma-male-female-to-ts9-crc9-rf-connector-converter-adapter-antenna-ebestseller-I2217858-2007-01-Sale-I.htm
I am attaching pics of the 5 connectors.
First there are the two that are most obvious plainly visible by removing the bottom cover
Then one under battery
and two more under top cover
ZTE has no documentation of these in either the Z700A manual nor the MF271A manuals that I have found
Maybe ZTE uses the same connector on many devices?
Has anyone identified what may be for the 4G antenna? I am only interested in 4G antenna connection so need to isolate which or what is relevant.
Maybe there is a better place to ask this?
Thanks
